Delhi Historical Society Tour Publication Wins State Award (Cincinnati )--
Delhi Historical Society (DHS) is being recognized by the Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums (OAHSM) for publication of a historical tour brochure. J.D. Britton, director of the local history office of the Ohio Historical Society, notified the Delhi organization that its 1999 publication, "A Floral Paradise: Driving Tour of Delhi Township," will receive the OAHSM Educational Commendation Award.
The certificate will be presented at the OAHSM annual meeting in Columbus on November 4, 2000.
The self-guided driving tour gives an overview of two centuries of township development, using existing civic, commercial, and cultural attractions along main-traveled roads as landmarks. The floral industry, which is the historic base of the township's economy, is emphasized. The award-winning education and tourism project was made possible through a grant from Delhi Township. Sue Ann Painter wrote the text for the 45-site guide. Pamphlet design was by Mark Eberhard with contemporary photographs by Tony Brunsman and Jack Doll, and historical illustrations from Society collections. Huff Realty and The Community Press were sponsors.
The publication was distributed community wide at no charge.
It is now out-of-print, but may be viewed in its entirety on the Society website.### Additional contacts: Delhi Township Administration (513) 922-3111
