Cincinnati's Lost Architects

  • Delhi Community/Senior Center 647 Neeb Road Cincinnati, OH, 45233 United States (map)

NOTE: The program will be at the
Delhi Community/Senior Center, 647 Neeb Rd

Join us Monday January 9th at the Delhi Community/Senior Center for our first program of 2023.  Dr. Thomas Connor will talk about Cincinnati’s Lost Architects, Joseph and Bernard Steinkamp.  Dr Connor’s program will take us on a journey of the Steinkamp's architectural prowess. In addition to two known homes in Delhi, the brothers Steinkamp designed many iconic Cincinnati buildings such as the Metropole Hotel (now the boutique 21c Hotel), the American Building, and the St. William’s Catholic Church, school, and parish house.  The Steinkamps were even contracted by pottery maven Maria Longworth Storer for the St. Ursula Chapel in Walnut Hills that she commissioned (We heard about Maria in our February 2022 Program with Nancy Broermann).

Post a pic of one of the Steinkamp’s buildings on the Delhi Historical Society’s Facebook page with a description of your favorite feature of its architecture to earn one free chance for the Split the Pot on January 9! (Must be in attendance to receive the ticket and chance. One entry per person.)

NOTE: Location Changed to DELHI SENIOR CENTER, 647 Neeb Rd!
