The Delhi Historical Society will unveil its new exhibit, "ROOTS: The People and Stories That Shaped Delhi Township," on Friday, May 3, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. during a special event at its historic Farmhouse.at 468 Anderson Ferry Road. The public is invited to attend this free opening. Light refreshments will be served.
"ROOTS" tells how Delhi grew from a remote, rural farming township to the thriving residential community it is today.
The exhibit is based upon the words of early residents of Delhi, whose stories were collected by the Society beginning in the 1980s. Photographs and artifacts from five eras: 1900-1919, 1920-1939, 1940-1959, 1960-1979, and 1980-2000 are on display. Panels feature the words from those who recall the earliest days of Delhi. A special audio-visual presentation is being produced to support the exhibit.
