Now Open! The Schools of Delhi Township

  • Delhi Historical Society 468 Anderson Ferry Road Cincinnati, OH, 45238 United States (map)

The Delhi Historical Society's newest exhibition, SCHOOLS of DELHI chronicles over 150 years of area schools.

More than two dozen schools have served the children of Delhi Township since its founding in 1816.  Some of those schools are still serving students today, though they have been around for nearly a century.  Some of the old school buildings still stand but have been adapted as private residences or businesses.  And some are gone forever.  You will learn about them all when you attend the SCHOOLS of DELHI.

The SCHOOLS of DELHI uses photographs, old school books, report cards, and other documents to tell the story of education in Delhi. Artifacts such as teachers bell teacher’s hand-bell brings the story alive.  You’ll see, and get to sit in (if you’ll fit!) a variety of school desks used through the 20th Century.

Visit the SCHOOLS of DELHI at the Delhi Historical Society’s historic Witterstaetter Farmhouse at 468 Anderson Ferry Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45238.  Regular hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM.  Other hours can be arranged by appointment.  Contact the Society via email at: info@DelhiHistoricalSociety.org, or telephone at : 513-451-4313.
